Halloween is here!

Can anyone guess what I'm going to be for Halloween? It's going to be so much fun. So simple but great. I'm taking the baby out ti some festivites in my neighborhood and for a ride on the carousel. I think she will love It. Ooh I can't wait.

Morning!!! So it's been 2 weeks from rhinebeck and already I have bought more yarn. However I have a good excuse, Seaport yarn, my lys was running a sale on all Cascade yarns the entire month of October. So I couldn't let that go, could I? So, at first I bought 3 skeins of Eco+ to make the Big Bow Cardigan from Interweave Crochet Winter 2008 (I am really digging this sweater. It's is very fashionable) but then i was thinking over the weekend, I also want to make the drops 103 jacket/cardigan? So I went back for more cascade Eco+. can I just say I love this yarn! The yardage is is just great for the price you pay, and the fact that it is on sale, even better.

Also on the needles is probably one of the few Christmas gifts I will knit. This is Ishbel in lout gems fingering weight yarn. I'm so glad that I am almost done so that I can start either Daybreak or Mara. Last of all the mystery sock along is coming to an end, the last part of the pattern will be released Thursday yay!!! Isn't it pretty? I can't wait to see the finished socks. It has been so much to knit the socks like this, not to mention it actually was easier to knit this way too, I didn't feel this pressure to finish the socks, I just knew that I had this seectuon to finish and then I could stop until the next week. Any way I'm here at work so I should get back to being the productive little worker. Oh, I should mention that I'm doing this on my iPhone. I'm trying something new to see if I could post more often and doing it during work is the best solution. Bye!

Rhinebeck came and went...

and I had a blast. This year I took the Parkslope Knitting Circle bus up. It was a very early start but boy was it worth it. We got there as the fair opened. It was so nice to shop when it wasn't crowed. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. I guess I was to busy shopping my list. 

I once a again came with a plan about what I wanted to buy. I shopped to make a pair of thrummed mittens and for the Mara Shawl and Daybreak shawl. I'm happy to say that I was extremely successful in keeping to my list and staying under budget. So what did I get: 

Well #1 I wanted to buy wine, last year we, my girls Rosi, jeanine, Anne and I can't remeber if there was anyone else bought  wine from Thousand Island Winery. Well I so enjoyed theire wine that I wanted to buy from them again. I thought about there wine for an entire year. So i got 4 bottles this year. I just opened my first bottle tonight, Loved it!

My first stop was Uncommon Threads, now I found this booth last year too. Shhh...but they were selling Silky Malabrigo for 9.95 and Malabrigo Sock yarn for 19.95. Those are great prices:

The colorway is Teal Feather and this is for Mara, and that would be five skeins.

The Malabrigo Sock is Persia and I also stopped at the Fold for some Socks that Rock, and the colorway is Jengu.

I also stopped at Shelridge Farms for a skein W4 yarn, in a Turquoise colorway and some llama down from Slivermoon Farm, as you can see, this is for a pair of Thrummed mittens. I made a pair last year and loved it, so here I am again. The llama down and the yarn are each yummy by themselves but together it is utter heaven.

So by this point I was done with what I specifically came to get, anything else was a splurge. I am a big bag fiend so I saw this one at Slivermoon Farm and just had to get it:

and look at how much it holds, its huge!

as you can see the bag is already in use.

My last and best splurge was a Yak/Cormo blend from Bijou Spun. Oh this yarn is heaven. I love it is so soft. I am knitting it into RosiG's Frio. Ooh I can't wait for this neck-warmer to be finished. Oh and I bought 2 shawl pins for all these shawls I am knitting.

All in all I had a great time and can't wait for next year. Anyway the girl-child is a calling and i am feeling nice from this wine...Good night.

An update! oh Wow!

So I am not even going to try and apologize for being gone so long. All you knitters out there with young babies know how life gets at this point (KJ is now 19 months and always on the go), not to mention I work full time. Those 2 things alone hardly leave me anytime for myself. But here I am with an update of where my knitting is at.

And I have been knitting, I mostly get to knit on the way to work and at lunch time, or if I am desperate for knitting at home I have to wait until I put KJ to bed, which usually means after 9 o'clock pm and later. But usually i am way too tired to knit and just fall out asleep. 

So we all know Rhinebeck is coming up next month and I am going. Yay!!! So of course I just had to knit a new sweater to wear. So I introduce Amelia, from Knitty, Winter 2008:

So as you can see I am almost finished, Woohoo!!! I'm am using Colrain from Webs a wool/silk blend. Details can be found on ravelry of course, here in fact.

I am also participating in a Knitalong with some of my IRL friends, who also happen to be on Ravelry. We are knitting the Every Way Wrap from Interweave Knits. Here is my version:

Yarn used is Tahki New Tweed, a very soft beautiful yarn. Details are on Ravelry.

The last project I am currently knitting on is Ishbel III. III? you might ask but what happened to number 2? Number 2 can be found here.  I had to stop working on # 2 so that i can knit #3 for my aunt for a gift. Most likely to be given at Christmas.

I am knitting this out of Louet Gems Merino, which has been sitting in my stash for at least a year boy am I glad to get this yarn out of my stash. I need to make space with Rhinebeck coming up. Details for this project can be found here.

Anyway, it's been fun writing again in the blog, but KJ is calling and I got to go. I have more to update you guys about but I feel the post would have been extremely too long. So until next time. I have important news to share with you guys.
