There has been lot’s of knitting around my way, In fact so much so that I finished the Bold Red Mirabilis.

Pattern: Mirabilis by Daniel Yuhas of Molting Yeti
Needles: Knit Picks Options US9’s
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted in Bold Red.
Notes: I did not deviate from the pattern except to make it a little larger than what the pattern was. Not by much, the pattern said you would use 2 and a half skeins of yarn but I used about 2 and just a little bit of the 3rd skein. But by the time I started binding off I realized that I could have probably made it even larger. I originally bought 3 skeins of Shepherd Worsted but I barely made a dent in the 3rd skein. I will probably make a new hat for KJ for next winter.
I did learn a new technique in knitting this blanket, Casting on from the Middle/Disappearing Loop –tutorial courtesy of Tech-knitting.
On a final note, I really, really, really loved knitting this blanket. I will miss it, it was just so easy to knit and easy to memorize. Oh, and when I decided I needed a photo of the blanket in action. I put KJ down sitting on it and this is what she automatically did:

Isn't she adorable. Oh how this child o' mine makes me smile!!!!
So, I decided that with spring being here it was time to knit a new camera cozy, especially since I was never fully happy with my original cozy. It was just a smidgen too small. So I picked out some bright yellow Koigu that I had bought to make socks (but then I realized I would never ever wear bright yellow socks, so into the stash it went) so here it is.

These are some of the latest squares, although I have 2 more that are unblocked. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am just glad I got into this project again.
And one thing that happened to me today that was kind of cool. I got to meet the host of Amazing Race, Phil Keoghan. He was outside the GNC right by my job.

Awwwww....she loves it! It's a beautiful blanket. I would make it bigger, too, if I made it again. But mine is a perfect stroller or car seat size.
